The Index (Integrated Network Digital eXchange) system from Avaya is both modular and flexible. It's a 'communications platform' capable of supporting the latest voice and data technologies. This modularity means that new features and functions can easily be added to provide the exact configuration you need. Avaya Index is designed for the SME market and is recognised as the leader in its class
All Avaya Index models share the same common components and support the same range of applications, offering full networking capability. The difference is the number of ports offered - you can start with as few as 10 and go on right up to 1088 per site, giving maximum choice in functionality and capacity.
Although the Avaya Index is now end of life, it is constructed from the very latest surface-mounted, multi-layer technology in order to minimise the number of components and enhance reliability. We Expect to be supporting the Avaya Index for many years to come, as it operates the communications infrastructure for many large organisations including the MOD.
Avaya Index's cassettes architecture enhances system reliability. Errors normally caused through handling or static are eliminated because its components are enclosed in cassettes with LED's to help easily identify the status of the line card.
All of Avaya Index's cassettes can be `hot-plugged` and instantly replaced without affecting the system's other functions or taking the system down. If an extension line card needs to be removed, Avaya Index's Safe Check™ warns all extensions - via their LCD panels - enabling users to finish their calls without being cut off.
Avaya Index's clever modular design means your investment is protected - the system is fully upgradeable to take advantage of new communications applications as they are developed.
